Tasty & Nourishing Mission
Tasty & Nourishing mission is to produce healthy and hearty handcrafted soups and stews. The ingredients are mostly locally grown organic and/or non-GMO conventionally grown vegetables, along with free-range chicken and organic beef broths. Consuming broth on a daily or frequent basis provides continuous protection from many health problems. Broths are extremely nutritious, containing minerals of bones and vegetables as electrolytes, and collagen, the most prolific animal protein. Research has confirmed that chicken broth helps prevent and mitigate infectious diseases and it is known to be a remedy for flu, cold, and asthma. Additionally, it repairs and calms the mucous lining in the small intestine, heals the nerves, improves digestion, and reduces allergies.
Poultry fat contains the monounsaturated fatty acid palmitoleic acid, which boosts our immune system. Chicken fat has more palmitoleic acid than most other types of poultry. The main monounsaturated fatty acid in poultry fat is oleic acid, well known for its beneficial effects on cholesterol. To top that off, if your chicken has been pastured on grass and weeds, its fat also has a good amount of omega-3 fatty acid and vitamin D.
Beef broth contains minerals that promote bone health. The magnesium in broth supports healthy bone formation during the developmental years and prevents osteoporosis when bone health declines in later years. Almost half of the fat in beef is a monounsaturated fat called oleic acid—the same heart-healthy fat that is found in poultry and olive oil. Also, most of the saturated fat in beef actually decreases our heart-disease risk - either by lowering LDL (bad) cholesterol, or by reducing our ratio of total cholesterol to HDL (good) cholesterol.
